In MasterChef: Global Gauntlet, contestants were given a challenge to prepare stadium-style food inspired by their culture and heritage. One contestant, Nora, represented Team Africa and prepared a haddock and maakouda sandwich served with chermoula mayo and Mediterranean salad. At first glimpse, the dish looked absolutely amazing and delicious. But as they say, what we see is not always what it actually is.
Things quickly turned uncomfortable when judge Tiffany Derry noticed something unusual inside the sandwich. She suddenly gasped after spotting a Band-Aid in the food. Unfortunately, chef Gordon Ramsay had already taken a bite from the dish. The chef was left shocked by the unexpected discovery.
How Did The Band-Aid Fall Into The Food?
Gordon Ramsay almost vomited after this unexpected twist. Explaining exactly what happened, Nora revealed during a camera interview that she was overwhelmed by the pressure. While rushing around the kitchen to grab ingredients like tomatoes and olives, she accidentally cut her finger. A medic quickly gave her a Band-Aid so she could continue cooking.
However, amid the chaos of the challenge, the bandage loosened and fell off without her noticing. Nora later replaced it with another plaster but did not realise the original one had landed inside the sandwich she served to the judges.
Nora apologised several times, but hygiene is very important in the kitchen. So, the contestant was eliminated.
