Dubai has a new support system for its senior citizens, and it runs through a single point of contact. Dubai Health has launched Yumnak, an initiative that brings health, social support, transport and housing services together for residents aged 60 and above.
Where Yumnak Was Launched
The initiative was launched at Emirates Towers. Abdulla Al Basti, Secretary General of The Executive Council of Dubai, attended alongside Dr Alawi Alsheikh-Ali, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority, and Dr Amer Sharif, CEO of Dubai Health. Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita of Dubai Municipality and Mishal Abdul Karim Julfar of Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services were also present.
Yumnak sits under City Makers, a flagship programme of the General Secretariat of The Executive Council of Dubai.
Six Entities, One Network
Instead of seniors approaching several offices on their own, the services now come together through one contact number. Six entities deliver them:
- Dubai Health Authority
- Community Development Authority
- Dubai Municipality
- Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services
- Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment
- Almadallah Healthcare Management
The set-up was shaped by direct feedback from senior citizens in Dubai. The name itself reflects the idea of care and support, which is the thread running through the whole programme.
What Seniors Can Expect
Healthcare And Transport
Eligible patients can use dedicated transport from Dubai Health’s own fleet to travel between their homes and Dubai Health facilities. For many families, getting to an appointment is half the effort, so having a vehicle sorted removes a real hurdle for patients who cannot easily travel on their own.
Social Support And Housing
Yumnak also links senior citizens to social support and housing services under the same network, rather than treating each need as a separate request.
What Officials Said
Dr Alsheikh-Ali said the initiative reflects the One Government approach. He pointed to stronger integration across entities and to placing senior Emiratis at the centre of how services are designed.

Part Of A Wider Push
Dubai already runs several programmes for older residents, including the Thukher card and the Wayakom health initiative. Yumnak adds a joined-up layer on top, with health, transport, housing and social services reachable through one route instead of six separate doors.
The details released so far do not spell out how seniors can register or which number to call, so keep an eye on Dubai Health’s channels for the next update.
