This summer vacation, several UAE residents prefer to cut their travel to their home country in favour of exploring a new tourist destination. A major reason for this, as revealed in the report, is due to the addition of new long-haul tourist destinations. These were previously unaffordable and as the budget carriers have added several long-haul tourist routes to their ever-growing network, people now have more opportunities to explore a new city.

For instance, in the case of Air Arabia, which is a Sharjah-based airline that recently announced the launch of its services to Vienna in Austria. Yes, once the service begins later this year, the one-way tickets to Vienna will only be available for AED399. In fact, the carrier also offers services to the cities of Athens, Krakow, and Phuket. Not just Air Arabia, Wizz Air also offers an ever-expanding network of destinations for the people.

So, people travelled to their home country by the end of June and then plan to return earlier, so they can explore other destinations during the summer break. This ends in August! A reason for this is also the skyrocketing airfare to their home destinations. As a result, they prefer to return earlier, since the airfares before August 10, especially for this year are quite minimal.

In fact, in the same report, it was mentioned that a major traveller pool in this category happens to be middle-class families. Previously, they limited their trips to home countries, but are now questioning whether they should be spending AED2000 to 2200 for these visits or not. As a result, they are now using the same budget for exploring new and popular tourist destination destinations that were previously beyond their reach due to financial constraints.
