UAE: Swifties Can’t Attend Taylor Swift Eras Tour Concert Due To Schengen Visa Delay; Heartbroken Fans Selling Off Tix

Europe is one of the most sought-after destinations for people in the UAE. However, with a surge in vacationers applying for a visa for the Schengen countries, appointments are delayed. In fact, with the appointments being given so late some residents in the UAE have been left in tears according to a report by Khaleej Times. And the reason for this is that they had plans to attend the Taylor Swift concert, but that can no longer happen. Here’s what the report states.

The report mentioned that several residents, who had been planning to go to Europe for a vacation also included some people who had been planning to attend the Taylor Swift Eras Tour concert. In case, you weren’t aware, the Taylor Swift Eras Tour is happening in the Netherlands on July 6. However, with the appointment dates still not available on the VFS Global website, residents who had bought the tickets have been forced to sell off the same. In fact, other Swifties who had also booked their tickets for other dates have also been forced to sell off their concert tickets as appointments for visas are no available. As such, many of them have been trying to secure an appointment for three months!

Getting an appointment for a Schengen Visa is quite difficult for people in the UAE. This is especially true as summer vacations loom close and due to the proximity of the nation to the continent, this is a preferred holiday destination. As a result, demand for Schengen Visas is continuously high. In fact, this demand has only risen since the pandemic. While many people contact travel agents for a seamless experience and easy visa procurement, about 20% of the clients are unable to secure one, as mentioned in the report.

This summer rush is the biggest factor currently. To avoid such sticky situations, travel agents urge people to apply for visas as well in advance. As Schengen countries accept documents up to 6 months before the travel date, applying for a visa well in advance is definitely the way to go. Especially, since the time taken for processing applications differs from country to country. Not to mention, this also depends on the applicant’s nationality and the visa category they are applying for!

It’s important to know that the person shouldn’t fall for scamming websites that claim visa appointments for low-cost. These external parties are often fraudulent entities proposed as VFS Global staff.

So, if you have also been planning to travel to Europe in the coming months, make sure to apply for a visa, well in advance so that your travel is seamless and without any complications.
