1. Shees Rest Area Is Now Open

Located in the rugged Hajar mountains, Shees Rest Area has opened just in time for the winter season in the UAE. As it happens, this area is just a kilometre from the sheets Park and it features everything from an artificial waterfall to tiny shops. As such, it was inaugurated by His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, who is the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The area features 58 shops that sell everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to domestic plants, carpets, perfumes and camping gear. Not to mention, there are restaurants and cafés here as well.

2. Dubai Residents Find Inspiration From OTT For Halloween Costumes

As Halloween is nearly here, the residents of Dubai are finding their inspiration from the OTT platforms according to reports of Khaleej Times. With the aim of ordering custom-made ‘striking’ costumes that resemble popular TV characters. As it happens, some expats are trying to get their outfit inspirations from platforms like Netflix, to turn heads at parties!

3. Dubai RTA Begins Second Phase Of Travel Behaviour Survey

In a recent post by the Dubai RTA on their official account on X (formerly Twitter) that they have begun the second phase of Travel Behaviour Survey. Yes, this will run until February 2024 and poll about 21,000 people. This includes inhabitants, labourers, tourists/visitors, and non-resident workers via workplace surveys. Not to mention, it’s a part of the RTA’s ongoing efforts to revise its road and transportation strategic plans. Moreover, it’s also going to improve road and public transportation networks.

4. Dubai To Host World Culture City Forum

As it happens, Dubai is preparing to host the World Cities Culture Forum in 2024. Since this will be the first MENA host, it will also enable the Emirate to continue creating a knowledge and innovation-based, sustainable, creative economy. As the summit aims to consolidate efforts to elevate the quality of life, it also offers leaders a platform to exchange ideas. Moreover, herein they can also exchange insights and aim to nurture talent, thereby empowering them to shape the creative cities of the future.

5. Second Mubadala Abu Dhabi Is Happening In Feb

Recently it was announced that the second edition of Abu Dhabi Open is coming back in February 2024. Yes, it will be happening from February 3rd to 4th and at the International Tennis Centre in Zayed Sports City. Not to mention, it will also feature elite female tennis players! As such, winners can take home AED3.3 million prize fund, and besides this, coveted ranking points are also at stake.
