A couple from the United Kingdom recently named their daughter ‘Pakora’ after India’s favourite street food. Taking the internet by surprise, the baby girl’s name triggered an array of memes and delicious tweets.

The Captains Table, a popular restaurant in Northern Ireland’s Newtownabbey took to social media to shared photographs of the baby girl “Pakora’ and a bill. The post read that the wife has named their newborn daughter ‘Pakora’ after her favourite dish from The Captain’s Table. A bill from the restaurant shows that the parents ordered four pakora dishes including chicken pakora, chicken pakora burrito salad and more.

The post became viral instantly. Netizens had funny reactions and even suggested naming their children Vindaloo, Ramen and Chowder. Other exclaimed that the baby is cute. But all is not what it seems. The Captains Table owner, Hilary Braniff later clarified on social media that she made up this story to bring cheer to the industry.
