1.UAE Leaders’ Birthday of the Prophet Mohammed
UAE leaders have sent messages to mark the birthday of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), which falls on August 25 this year. The messages highlighted the values related to the occasion, such as compassion, unity, and goodwill. The UAE will also get a public holiday on August 28, giving residents a long weekend.
2. Ajman Launches Digital Contract Cancellation Service Launch
Ajman Municipality launches a unified digital service to cancel rental contracts, allowing both parties to complete the process online. The request is processed automatically without documents, staff review or additional approvals when both parties agree to the cancellation. This service aims to reduce paperwork, speed up and simplify services to clients on property.
3. Abu Dhabi Date Harvest Season Welcomes 16,000 Visitors
The Date Harvest Season in Abu Dhabi has welcomed over 16,000 visitors at events held at Al Rahbah Plaza and Al Khatim Park. The festivities, organised by Abu Dhabi City Municipality, highlighted Emirati heritage and the cultural value of date palms. Visitors were treated to traditional crafts, educational activities, competitions and family entertainment. More than 10,000 people attended the event at Al Rahbah Plaza and around 6,000 people attended the programme at Al Khatim Park.
4. Finnair Suspends Dubai Flights For Winter 2026/27
Finnair has announced the suspension of flights between Helsinki and Dubai for the whole of the winter 2026-27 season. The Finnish airline said the move was because of the ongoing security situation affecting the region. The suspension is for the winter season, and Finnair will continue to monitor the situation before making any further changes to its network.

5. Sharjah Traffic Diversion Near University Bridge Until October 5
Motorists in Sharjah should be aware of a new traffic diversion linked to ongoing Etihad Rail infrastructure works. From August 26 until October 5, traffic heading from Industrial Area 17 towards Maliha Road will be partially diverted. Alternative routes will be available for motorists travelling to nearby destinations, including Sharjah English School and Nesto Hypermarket.
