As temperatures continue to soar across the UAE, Abu Dhabi Police has asked motorists to follow six key safety measures. Yes, they’ve been urged to follow these as they drive during the summer months. It is a part of the safe summer awareness campaign and accident-free initiative from the Ministry of Interior.
Abu Dhabi Police Urged To Follow Safety Measures
As mentioned by Abu Dhabi Police, drivers must carry out routine vehicle inspections before they set out. This includes checking everything from the fluid levels and tyre pressure to the tyre conditions. They must also ensure that essential safety equipment is available. As it happens, the authority has also asked motorists not to drive immediately if the steering wheel is excessively hot. Moreover, flammable materials must not be left inside the vehicles, and the vehicle must be parked in shaded areas wherever possible.
Following Precautions Reduces The Mechanical Failure Risk
If people follow these precautions, it reduces the risk of mechanical failure. Not to mention, road accidents during summer are also significantly reduced. As a result, motorists have been asked to ensure that they take these responsible steps and take preventive measures to protect themselves and other drivers on the road.

Dubai Police Asks Motorists To Carry Out Vehicle Checks
Not only this, but Dubai Police has also asked motorists to make sure that their vehicles are in good condition. They also asked motorists to follow the inspections relating to their tyres and to check the safety features regularly. As revealed by the Gulf News, Dubai Police statistics show that 3,589 violations are related to vehicle safety. These were recorded during the first five months of the year.
They have also been warned against fitting unauthorised external modifications. Alterations of this kind of lead to mechanical failures and are generally a major cause for vehicle fires. With authorities across the UAE stepping up traffic awareness and enforcement campaigns, these focus on the running of vehicles.
After all, maintaining a safe vehicle is not just a measure for people to be saved, but for others’ safety as well.
