Some states of India are finally feeling a bit relaxed from the scorching heat of the summer season. Several places experienced rainfall yesterday which helped in reducing the temperature to some extent. Not only splashes of rain, several parts even had to face power cuts and waterlogged areas because of the sudden heavy rainfall. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has already warned about further downpours in the next couple of hours. Here are all the deets!

These Places Received Rainfall In The Last 1 Day

Over the weekend, places such as Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Mumbai, Rajasthan, West Bengal, and some places in Northeast India experienced rainfall at different points in time. The sudden downpour has turned out to be quite helpful in bringing the mercury down. Not just bringing the heat down, the rainfall also helped in improving the polluted air quality.

Delhi Experienced Record Downpour!

Delhi was drenched due to rainfall on Monday. It was raining heavily in so many parts. Interestingly, Delhi just witnessed its highest 24-hour rainfall during the month of March. And this highest record is set in the last 3 years, as stated by the India Meteorological Department. The weather conditions worsened leading to some flights diverting at the airport.

Mumbai Was Pouring On Monday Night

Though the new day of the week, Monday began with the usual temperature in Mumbai, the city of dreams and nearby places started experiencing heavy rainfall during the night. This sudden downpour helped the city to recover from its poor air quality. The AQI saw a change to 89 yesterday, as shared by the SAFAR dashboard.

West Bengal Saw Major Rainfall In The Past Couple Of Days

Several parts of West Bengal received immense rainfall since 18 March 2023. Several areas experienced continuous downpours for hours and it went on for a couple of days. Many places got waterlogged because of the untimely rainfall. The good thing is that the temperature took a dip and the weather is quite pleasant at the moment.

The India Meteorological Department has already issued its predictions for the upcoming couple of days. Several places in North India and Northeast India will receive rainfall. Till 23 March, there is a certainty of Delhi experiencing rainfall. Folks of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh, you need to stay alert. Some areas of these places have chances to experience thunderstorms on 24 march 2023, as reported by India Today.
