When boarding a flight, nobody thinks about any unexpected delays or emergency landing. However, one must stay calm if they happen to fall in such situations. As emergency landings could occur for several reasons. One such reason is technical issues that an aircraft may encounter mid-year. Something similar happened to an Air India Express flight from Dubai that was flying to the city of Lucknow in the state of Uttar Pradesh of India. Here’s all about it.
UP-Bound Air India Express Flight Makes Emergency Landing
On Monday, an Air India Express flight IX 194, headed to Lucknow from Dubai, had to make an emergency landing. This flight took off at 4 AM from the Dubai Airport, but after 90 minutes due to some technical problem, the flight returned and landed back at the Dubai Airport. It’s worth mentioning that this flight was supposed to land in Lucknow at 9:30 AM. It should be noted that passengers were later evacuated safely.
However, according to a report by ETV Bharat, which also revealed about this emergency landing, mentioned that passengers were left fuming. They were angered as Air India failed to give any reason for the sudden emergency landing in Dubai.
Several Flights For Lucknow Were Cancelled
In fact, four flights flying to and from Lucknow were cancelled and several were delayed from their scheduled time. Not to mention, Star Air flight S5223, scheduled to depart from Lucknow for Kishangarh at 3 PM was cancelled. Not to mention, Indigo flight to Bangalore had also been cancelled and a flight from Bangalore to Lucknow had also been cancelled.
This incident came to light not long after a flight by flydubai from Dubai to Colombo International Airport had to be diverted to Karachi International Airport. Due to the medical emergency onboard, the flight had to make an emergency landing. The passengers were however provided with refreshments and they continued with the journey with a delay of eight hours.
So, situations can arise due to a number of reasons, however, it is up to us to remain calm and deal with it in a mature manner.
