A UP man, hailing from Gautam Buddha Nagar, was arrested at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport for posing as a Singapore Airlines pilot. The 24-year-old man has been identified as Sangeet Singh. He was caught by the CISF while strolling around the Delhi airport in a pilot uniform and fake ID card.

Sangeet presented himself as an employee of Singapore Airlines but the authorities were able to catch his lies when his credentials failed to match his story. He was caught at the airport’s Metro Skywalk area. Reportedly, he forged the ID with the help of an online app called Business Card Maker. As for the uniform and other accessories, he has reportedly purchased it from Pilot 18 – a store in Dwarka. This store sells items related to the aviation sector like pilot uniforms, badges, logbooks, and more.

What is interesting is that Sangeet has also duped his family into believing that he is a commercial pilot. It has been revealed that he completed a one-year Aviation Hospitality course in Mumbai in 2020. Upon the completion of the course, he misled his family, friends, and acquaintances into believing he was a commercial pilot with the reputed Singapore Airlines.

He has been arrested and a case has been registered against. He has been booked under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 420 (cheating and dishonesty), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating), and 471 (using a forged document as a genuine one).
