Video Of Fountain In The Middle Of Mumbai Road Goes Viral; Netizens Say, “Flora Fountain’s New Location”

It is often said in Mumbai that monsoons here are the most romantic. However, if you’re from a group of people who regularly have to work and as a result, reckon with the infrastructure of this city, you know that Mumbai rains are anything but romantic. Someone recently shared a video of a fountain erupting in the middle of a road in Mumbai. This sparked a conversation about the infrastructure of the city.

Viral Video Shows Fountain Erupting In The Middle Of Road

A video shared on X (formerly known as Twitter), is now making rounds all over the Internet. The video shows a fountain spontaneously erupting from a road in Mumbai. As per the post, it is the Chandivali Farm Road which is located in Powai.

Cars are seen trying to dodge the fountain and driving past it. Many people mistook it to be a leak in the underground pipes. However, a response by the L ward of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation or BMC says that it’s actually a routine process and not a dysfunction.

The response stated that the process of cleaning the main pipeline by flushing it was in progress. This is a routine procedure.

This Is How Netizens Reacted To The Video Of The Fountain

Even though the BMC shared their response, it did not stop the Netizens from poking some fun at it. One commenter said that Flora Fountain – a heritage location in the heart of Mumbai – has changed location.

Another commenter sarcastically said that the city completely transformed during the monsoon season, hinting at the fountain. Yet another commenter said that it’s a brand-new attraction in town and is a must-visit.

Even though it is part of a routine procedure, the BMC could have managed the area a little better. Perhaps if it was carried out at night, motorists wouldn’t have had to face the inconvenience.
