After being shut for months due to the lockdown, the Tamil Nadu government had finally opened the tourist hotspots. However, they did not have a proper COVID protocol in place. After days of reopening, the Tamil Nadu government released the standard operating procedures that that needs to be followed strictly. Here are all the tourist guidelines that you must follow:
1. The staff will disinfect the furniture and other surfaces at the tourist spots daily. They will also mark the floor for adequate social distancing. 2. The tourist spots will only allow 50% visitors of the total capacity to ensure adequate physical distancing. Visitors will be allowed to enter and batches, and there will be a designated area for those waiting outside.

4. The tickets will be issued online on available time slots. Physical ticketing method shall be discouraged to prevent crowding at the counters. In cases where physical ticketing is unavoidable, adequate physical distancing shall be ensured.
5. There will be a single entry and exit point for visitors. Tourists can get the hand sanitisers, hand gloves and masks available at the reception. Besides, all employees and staff must wear the necessary protective gear. The premises will also have CCTV cameras to track and trace visitors. 6. Posters and standees will be placed with relevant information like emergency numbers and the COVID rules. Suspected COVID-19 cases among the staff or the visitors will be sent to the isolation facility.
7. The site administration shall constitute a Rapid Response Team who will be in charge of preventing incidents and managing the impact in cases of incidents. High-risk employees like pregnant women and senior citizens will be kept from being exposed to frontline work at the spot.
8. No tourist will be allowed to visit the containment zones.
The beaches in Tamil Nadu are some of the most popular destinations, and they are likely to reopen from December 14.
