The groom, Varun Navani, founder and CEO of artificial intelligence firm Rolai, led the extravagant wedding procession. As reported by New York Post, the baraat included hundreds of family members, friends, and wedding guests who danced to a mix of Bollywood music and Punjabi dhol beats in the heart of Manhattan.
Navani, dressed in a cream-coloured sherwani with pearl embellishments, arrived in a convertible. The bride, Amanda Soll, a legal compliance director, later joined the celebration in a dazzling ruby-red lehenga by designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee. Their wedding was a vibrant blend of Indian and Jewish traditions and symbolised a perfect mix of cultures in one of the world’s busiest cities.
Road Closures And Permits For The Big Fat Indian Wedding
According to New York Post, the couple had to secure as many as 28 permits to close parts of the Financial District for the celebration. Each permit reportedly cost up to $66,000, and the wedding was spread across four days, beginning on 23 May.
