When it comes to surveys and indexes, Dubai and UAE as a whole have been constantly holding a top spot or are among other top names. And recently, in an inaugural list, Brand Finance City Index, it was revealed that Dubai has ranked at the 9th spot and it has snagged the top spot in the Middle East & Africa. Here’s all about this list and the names on it.

Dubai Takes 9th Spot Out Of 100 World’s Best City Brands

Dubai has once again taken a position amongst the top names. It has been ranked in the 9th position in the list of the world’s best city brands. According to a report by Khaleej Times, this inaugural Brand Finance City Index was released on Thursday, May 18. The emirate achieved this spot by scoring 75.8 out of 100 points. As it happens, Dubai ranked ahead of cities like Amsterdam, Miami, Toronto, Barcelona, Rome, Chicago, Melbourne, Zurich, Boston, Geneva, Vienna, Vancouver, Stockholm, Hong Kong, and Frankfurt. Here’s a look at the top ten cities in the world –

  2. New York
  3. Paris
  4. Los Angeles
  5. Sydney
  6. Singapore
  7. Tokyo
  8. San Francisco
  9. Dubai
  10. Amsterdam

Abu Dhabi Also Snagged The 28th Spot On The List

As it happens, there were 100 cities taken from across the globe, and the survey results were concluded on the basis of their answers regarding general reputation and their personal consideration of each city. These include factors like the place to live, work locally, work remotely, study, retire, visit, or invest in. Not to mention, Abu Dhabi took the 28th spot globally and snagged the second position in the region. The bottom spot on the list was taken by the cities Karachi, Kyiv, Mumbai, Dhaka, Bangalore, New Delhi, Nairobi, Nanjing, Hanoi, and Tel Aviv.

At this point, it should be mentioned that recently Dubai was also named the Social Media Capital of the World. In fact, its airport was also named the fourth best airport for a layover!
