And recently, it was announced that two areas in Riyadh are now renamed as King Salman Neighbourhood. Here’s all you need to know about this redevelopment project.

Yes, His Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who is the Prime Minister and Chairman of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs, renamed two areas as King Salman Neighbourhood. According to a report by the Arab News, Al-Waha and Salah Al-Din neighbourhoods have been renamed after his father. Moreover, this forms a part of efforts to develop these areas. Talking about the neighbourhood, it is located in the heart of the city. The area is spread across 6.6 square kilometres and is located adjacent to King Salman Park. As it happens, this announcement was made by the crown prince in honour of the five-decade-long leadership of His Highness King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

What Can You Expect With The Redevelopment?

Did you know this area is home to one of the first private universities in the city? Yes, we’re talking about Prince Sultan University. Not to mention, it is also home to King Abdullah Walkway. It’s worth mentioning that once this neighbourhood is redeveloped, it will feature improved basic services and recreational activities. The news first reported by a Saudi state media agency, also mentioned that this project comes as a developmental and environmental effort by His Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The aim is to push for an upgrade of Riyadh, to put the city on the world map as one of the most important economic and tourism capitals. This is also in accordance with the Vision 2030!
