World’s 50 Best releases the winners of the best restaurants, chefs, and pioneer representations in the culinary industry every year. And for this year, the award for the Best Female Chef in the World has been clinched by Chef Janaina Torres. Falling under ‘World’s 50 Best’, this reputed award for 2024 goes to the much-deserving Brazilian chef. This title holds a major significance in representing female chefs from all around the world.
According to a report by Forbes, a total of 1,080 independent restaurant experts and gourmets of the industry vote for the participants on the world-famous list. The highest number of votes selects the winner of the notable honour. This year’s winning title is much deserved by Chef Janaina Torres for her immense contribution to the culinary world and how she enhances many foodies’ gastronomic experiences at A Casa do Porco in São Paulo.
Her journey to the cooking world began at quite a young age. In conversation with The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, she revealed how she fell in love with food and cooking just at the age of 12. She was not even a teenager when he started to sell street food, as a 12-year-old girl. As time passed, her love and passion for all these things only grew and slowly she was in love with wine. This was one of her wake-up calls to join the vast food and cooking world.

Chef Janaina Torres opened O Bar da Dona Onça, her first restaurant, back in 2008. She started the place by serving dishes prepared using pressure cooking. After several projects and ventures and with a lot of learning, she began to run A Casa do Porco. From the beginning, the chef has been ruling foodies’ hearts with appetising dishes served at this São Paulo restaurant. From supporting social causes to also being the best in the culinary world, she does it all elegantly.
