What Is The History Behind Marundeeswara?
According to legend, Lord Indra suffered from an incurable illness. The Ashwini Devathas, the divine healers, came to Thirukachur in search of medicinal herbs. After praying to Lord Shiva, they were guided to the herbs. Since Shiva helped in healing, he became known as Marundeeswarar, the Lord of Medicines.
