The Back to Hogwarts festival is a yearly celebration by Harry Potter enthusiasts everywhere. It is celebrated on the 1st of September and it marks the beginning of a new school year at Hogwarts. Harry Potter fans from far and wide gather at King’s Cross in London.

This is because, in the Harry Potter books, King’s Cross station is where the train arrives to whisk the students away to Hogwarts. Even though there is no actual 9 ¾, even the officials of King’s Cross will recognise the train to Hogwarts on this day and ‘The Hogwarts Express’ will appear on the Departure boards of the station.

Dressed up in robes and sporting paraphernalia from their respective houses, Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw, Harry Potter fans go all out for this festival.

The highlight of the festival will be the countdown to the train’s departure at 11 AM. One lucky fan will get to lead this countdown. To enter this competition, you have to record and send a video of you counting down. The deadline for sending it is midnight on the 7th of August.

However, adult HP fans might have to sit this one out as there is an age limit in the contest. Only fans between the ages of five to 17 can participate in this contest! But hey, at least there’s butterbeer for the adults!
