On September 28, the occasion of Lata Mangeshkar’s 93rd birth anniversary, Uttar Pradesh gave her a beautiful tribute. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated an intersection—Lata Mangeshkar Chauraha— on the bank of the Sarayu river in Ayodhya. This Lata Mangeshkar Chowk features a 14,000 kg veena sculpture. A befitting tribute to India’s Nightingale.
Ayodhya’s Lata Mangeshkar Chowk Features Massive Veena
Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated Lata Mangeshkar Chowk on Wednesday. The government developed the intersection at an estimated cost of ₹7.9 crores. It features a stunning veena. The musical instrument sculpture spans 40 feet in length and 12 metres in height. Moreover, it weighs a whopping 14 tonnes.

A Fitting Tribute To India’s Legendary Singer
According to an NDTV report, Padma Shri awardee Ram Sutar made the massive veena. He took two months to create this masterpiece. The intricately engraved veena also has an embellishment of Goddess Saraswati— the goddess of music. Lata Mangeshkar Chowk unites music lovers to pay tribute to India’s great singer. In fact, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the Ayodhya Chowk, a fitting tribute to one of India’s greatest Indian icons.
