When flying in an aeroplane, people always prefer to take a seat beside the window. After all, the unparalleled view of some of the most breathtaking sceneries never gets old. This is something a Dutch pilot, Christiaan van Heijst probably agrees with. Known for sharing some of the most mesmerising pictures from his aerial journeys, he recently shared a rare glimpse of the Aurora Borealis that was taken from the cockpit.

Christiaan van Heijst is a Dutch pilot who is known for sharing some of the most awe-inspiring pictures taken during his flights. Yes, this picture is of Northern Lights that were taken from the cock pit. Taken over the North Atlantic Ocean, the pilot previously shared a video of the Northern lights in 2023. In fact, he also left users on social media amazed by sharing this captivating image that showcased its vibrant turquoise colour streaking across the sky. The mesmerising showcase, which was taken just a few hundred miles South of Iceland, illuminates the city lights of Reykjavik.
In his caption for the pictures, he mentioned that one can see artificial lights on the horizon, which are beacons of civilisation. After the picture was captured, the flight touched down four hours later, finding the ground in a typical cargo airport in central Europe.

As it happens, he is a Dutch 747 captain and cargo pilot who is known for sharing some of the most beautiful pictures captured during his flights. He often leaves his followers amazed with these breathtaking shots. In fact, he is also often seen uploading videos of aircraft landings. As such, there are also other images captured by the pilot, which include the birdseye view of brightly lit up cities, view of the Sahara desert, or even pretty clouds captured over the Grand Canyon.
