Witness The Beauty Of TN & Guj’s Food, Culture & More At Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam

Gujarat will be hosting the beautiful event of two diverse nations and lifestyles coming together, the Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam. This two-week-long event will be held in Somnath from April 17 to 30. The function aims to promote and preserve the rich culture and heritage of Tamil Nadu and Saurashtra. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Somnath to be a part of the inaugural function.

Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam

Saurashtra Tamil Sangamam is a celebration of the centuries-old cultural ties between the two diverse regions of Tamil Nadu and Gujarat. The event will be modelled keeping the Kashi Sangam in mind.

It  is a special activity that promotes regular and enhanced communication between people from the two regions.

Many people were compelled to relocate from Saurashtra in Gujarat centuries ago and create new settlements in Tamil Nadu’s areas around Madurai, now known as Tamil Saurashtrian, as a result of invasions between 600 and 1000 years ago. A special event has been planned to let people reconnect with their ancestral homeland and explore topics including industry, handicraft, education, culture, and sports.
