It is a treat when life imitates art. In a hilarious incident, (hilarious for us, not for those involved), a woman drove her car right into the sea, reminiscent of Michael Scott from ‘The Office’. A video of two women being rescued after the car was driven into the sea is going viral. The women were tourists who were following the global positioning system or the GPS. Fortunately, both women are safe and sound and were rescued by the fishermen around.

Christie Hutchinson was sitting in a boat, trying to seek shelter from the rain when she saw a car zooming past right into the sea. She recorded the whole incident which showed two women, still inside the car, as it slowly starts to submerge.
The fishermen around immediately jump into the water to save the two of them. Luckily, both women make it out of the car and the water safely without harm. Hutchinson took to the popular social media platform, Instagram and posted the video there.
The incident is a little too reminiscent of a famous scene from the iconic mockumentary series ‘The Office.’ The scene in question featured Steve Carrell as Michael Scott along with Dwight Schrute played by Rainn Wilson. The two characters are in a frustrating attempt to win back their old clients.

Michael Scott, who is frustrated with machines and technology, ends up misreading GPS directions and ends up driving into a lake. The scene is one of the most popular ones in the series.
The incident that Hitchinson is hilariously similar to the scene in the famous comedy series. Many people flocked to the comment section and speculated about the driver’s state of mind.
Some people worried that she might actually be experiencing an early onset of Alzheimer’s disease or similar brain degenerative disorders. Some have even speculated that the driver might have been in an inebriated state.
