  • The construction project of the world’s largest Hindu temple took a duration of more than 12 years, starting from 2011 to 2023.
  • Over 12,500 volunteers and workers have worked on this grand and opulent project.
  • It is located around 60 miles to the south of Times Square. From the north of Washington DC, it is about 180 miles.
  • Spread over an area of 183 acres, the temple has a measurement of 255 ft x 345 ft x 191 ft.
  • The designs and intricacies are a major highlight of the largest Hindu temple outside India. From ancient Indian culture’s elements to carvings of Indian classical musical instruments and dance styles, there are thousands of statues and elements to witness here.

It is believed that 12th-century Angkor Wat is the world’s largest temple and New Jersey’s Akshardham temple is the second largest, right after Angkor Wat.
