Do you often travel long distances on trains? In a country of more than 140 crores, trains are surely one of the most-used transportation modes. Lakhs and crores of passengers use this transportation facility every day. On longer journeys, many passengers prefer their suitable seats for comfort but not everyone can get the seats they desire. Recently, a man booked over 40 tickets on IRCTC and hardly got lower berths.

X User Wants To Sue IRCTC; Here’s Why

Taking to X, Sambit Nayak (@sambitnk) shared his experience of booking tickets on IRCTC and the tickets that he got in return.

According to the X post made by Sambit Nayak, he booked a total of 46 tickets on the IRCTC platform. Out of these 46 tickets, 24 have been booked for passengers travelling to the destination. The rest 22 have been booked for people returning. In this huge number of tickets booked on IRCTC, Sambit Nayak was surprised to get only 1 lower berth ticket among the 24 tickets for going to the destination. And in the lot of 22 return tickets, he got just 1 SL. Quite surprising, right?

There have been many instances when people often did not get lower seats due to unavailability. However, booking 46 tickets and not getting enough lower berths clearly came as a major surprise for the man who booked everything. He even asked for help from lawyers who could help him to “pro bono sue IRCTC”.

Also, he made a post about notification of ‘Confirmation’ stating about the “Lower Berth/ Sr. Citizen Quota berths”.
