X user Anu Satheesh recently shared an elaborate list of some of the most powerful Hanuman temples in India and it is enough to make you pack your bags and head there to witness the magic in person.

1. Yantrodharaka Hanuman Temple, Hampi, Karnataka

This 15th-century temple is very popular among Hanuman devotees. It is believed that it was built on the site where Lord Ram met Hanuman ji for the first time during the Ramayana period.

2. Hanuman Garhi Temple, Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh

The Hanuman Garhi Temple was built in 1855 by the Nawab of Awadh. After the Ram Mandir, it is considered one of the most important temples in Ayodhya.

3. Namakkal Anjaneyar, Tamil Nadu

Built in Tamil architectural style, Namakkal Anjaneyar is located near the Narasimhaswamy Temple. It is believed that the Hanuman idol here has been carved out of a single stone and has been there since the 5th century.

4. Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh

Sankat Mochan means the ‘reliever from troubles’ and it is said that this temple was founded by the famous poet Tulsidas himself.

5. Anjali Varadha Anjaneyar, Chinnalapatti, Tamil Nadu

While Chinnalapatti is mainly known for its stunning sarees, the place is equally famous for the Anjali Varadha Anjaneyar temple there.

6. Hanuman Temple, Puri, Odisha

In Puri’s Jagannath Temple, you will find a temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman. He is often referred to as ‘Daria Mahavir’ and ‘Bedi Hanuman’ there.

7. Suchindram Shree Thanumalayan Swamy Temple, Tamil Nadu

Also known as Thanumalayan Temple, this temple is home to one of the tallest statues of Lord Hanuman built from a single rock in India. The idol here stands at 22 feet and is carved from a granite block.

8. Paritala Anjaneya Temple, Kanchikacherla, Andhra Pradesh

Paritala Anjaneya houses one of the tallest Hanuman idols in the world. The statue here is 135 feet tall.

9. Jakhu Temple, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh

This ancient temple in Himachal is very famous among devotees. It is believed that Lord Hanuman took some rest on this mountain during his search for sanjeevani medicine and the temple has been built on the same site.

10. Bade Hanuman Temple, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh

The temple is also known as Lete Hanuman Mandir because the idol here depicts a lying position of the lord. In fact, the idol is half immersed in the Ganga River here.

11. Anjeyanadri Hill, Karnataka

Located near Hampi, Anjeyanadri Hill is believed to be the birthplace of Lord Hanuman and is very famous among his devotees.
