It’s not just pubs that welcome late-night crowds in India. Restaurants celebrating regional cuisines also do. In Bengaluru, you’d see serpentine crowds outside The Rameswaram Cafe outlets at 12 am. Nothing like satiating late-night hunger pangs with gheelicious dosas and podi idlis. Looks like even Gurugram has its fanbase for South Indian food. A recent post on X gives a glimpse of late-night crowds outside Carnatic Cafe in Gurugram. Here’s more to it.
Carnatic Cafe In Gurugram Sees Late-Night Crowds
X user, Gabbar Singh (@GabbbarSingh) shared a picture of large crowds at the entry of Carnatic Cafe in Gurugram. The picture shows people waiting in the middle of the night to get a seat at the beautifully lit South Indian restaurant. In the caption, @GabbbarSingh mentions that the crowd wasn’t for the entry of a pub but rather for a restaurant serving South Indian food in Gurugram.
This crowd, late night, is not at the entry of a pub, it’s the Carnatic cafe in Gurgaon. It serves fluffy Rameshwaram cafe style Dosas, laden with ghee, and other stuff. But the fandom is going crazy.

Furthermore, he mentions that Carnatic Cafe serves fluffy Rameshwaram cafe-style dosas lade with ghee and other delicacies. Furthermore, he mentioned that the fandom went crazy. @GabbbarSingh observes that North India traditionally served Tamil Nadu-style Masala Dosas. A dish residents always enjoyed on special occasions. He remembered taking his friends to his dosas on his birthday.
They were wafer-thin paper dosas served with non-sweet sambar and coconut chutney. Suddenly, the market has opened for Bengaluru-style dosas. These are golden-brown dosas, crispy on the outside and spongey on the inside. Prepared with oodles of ghee. Often served with sweet sambar. @GabbbarSingh is impressed with the market that has opened up for Bengaluru-style dosas.

Eating out and trying any type of cuisine has become an absolute addiction now. These outlets are cashing on this craze and dosas with cool and crazy names have been sold like hot cakes for 200-300 bucks.

During Childhood I loved Dosa in Agra..
I was told Dosa in North Indja is adapted to North Indian taste. I believed.
When I went road trip in South India , and when I had dosa in TN & KL. that was exactly the dosas which I like.
It was spicy non sweet, KA ruined dosa.
