J&K’s First Tourism Village Panchari Has Homestays

Divisional Commissioner Jammu Raghav Langer launched the union territory, Jammu & Kashmir’s first tourist village, Panchari on October 12 at the Sankari Devta ground in Meer Panchari. Mr Langer revealed to NDTV that the tourism initiative shall empower women and youth by providing them with both direct and indirect employment opportunities. It will also boost the rural economy and encourage community entrepreneurship. Jammu & Kashmir is currently witnessing the highest tourist influx in the whole of India. With the launch of Panchari, domestic tourists are in for a treat.

A resident of the village stated to NDTV that homestay facilities are now open in Panchari, which will give tourists a home away from home feeling. Moreover, the facilities of the homestay in Panchari would both, add to the income of villagers and also fulfil all accommodation requirements of travellers. A tourist from Delhi, Shafali revealed to NDTV that she enjoyed the scenic beauty of Panchari. While she visited the tourist village for the first time, she plans to tell all her loved ones to visit the travel destination. Jammu & Kashmir will transform 75 villages in the Union Territory that are famous for offering unparallel views, coupled with rich culture and heritage.
