It was recently unveiled that Nikhil Kamath has invested in Cafe Amudham. This is a chain of eateries that serves traditional South Indian food at its outlets in both Bengaluru and Delhi. With the undisclosed amount invested in the popular chain, it is often seen as a competitor to the Rameshwaram Cafe.
Nikhil Kamath Invests In Cafe Amudham
As revealed in a report by the Hindustan Times, Nikhil Kamath has invested in Cafe Amudhum. He has invested in this chain of eateries, which is often pegged as a rival to Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru. Although the two chains serve similar cuisine, they operate in a different manner. As mentioned by Indian Start-up News, it is an investment of somewhere between 4 to 5 crores in the brand. However, the exact amount has not been disclosed.
Not The Only Investment In Food Brand
It should be noted that Cafe Amudhum is a QSR brand, and it does something similar to McDonald’s. They open multiple outlets in different cities and expand fast. At this point, it’s worth noting that this is not the first time that Nikhil Kamath has invested in a food brand. He is known for investing in brands like Subko Coffee Roasters and Third Wave. In fact, he is also invested in the online meat and seafood brand, Licious.

It is expected that the use of these funds could be for planning a rapid expansion across metro cities in India. With affordable pricing and a ghee-heavy menu, the restaurant enjoys quite a bit of popularity amongst foodies. In case you didn’t already know, Cafe Amudham is known for offering quintessential South Indian cuisine, offering everything from crowd-favourite dosas to delish-looking thalis. And although Rameshwaram Cafe already enjoys immense popularity in Bengaluru, Cafe Amudhan now aims to go pan-India with its expansion.
