On May 12, the world celebrated Mother’s Day. A day dedicated to the nurturer of our life, a person to whom we are indebted, our mother. Many Indians made their mothers feel special by ordering a delicious cake on the special occasion. Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal took to X (formerly Twitter) to reveal interesting stats for the day and also give a glimpse of the Mother’s Day celebration at the Zomato headquarters.
Indians Ordered Cakes For Their Moms On Zomato On Mother’s Day
Taking to X on Mother’s Day, Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal put out a poll asking X users to guess the most loved cake flavour for Indian mothers. 35.3 per cent of Netizens guessed Chocolate, 34.3 per cent guessed Pineapple and 30.04 per cent guessed Butterscotch. Later, Goyal announced the results. While chocolate is the right answer. He revealed the margins were way off.

Indians ordered chocolate cakes for their mothers on Zomato in huge numbers. As per the Zomato CEO, chocolate cake was ordered 3 times more than pineapple cake on Mother’s Day. Looks like Chocolate has a loyal fanbase of not just kids but moms as well!

Food Delivery Aggregator Surpassed Its Highest Orders; Invited Employees’ Moms

Interestingly, Mother’s Day for the first time turned out to be a much higher volume than New Year’s Eve for Zomato. Moreover, Goyal revealed that Zomato surpassed its highest orders on May 12. And thanked customers for making the food delivery aggregator a part of their celebrations. He thanked all Zomato and Blinkit delivery partners for making the day memorable for all mothers.
It was not “all work and no play” for folks at Zomato. ZoMoms (moms of Zomato employees) visited the office for Mother’s Day celebrations. The mothers created beautiful art pieces for their children’s work desks. They also cut a beautiful MOM-shaped chocolate cake and gave feedback on how to run Zomato better. After all, don’t mothers give the best advice? Apart from delivering yummy cakes, the company also lets customers gift personalised celebrity video messages to their mothers.
