In a concerning video circulating on social media, a staff of Indonesia’s TransNusa Airlines was seen falling off an Airbus A320 after ground workers moved the step ladder away from the plane. The airport authorities are investigating this incident to make sure they take assured measures to prevent such happenings in the future.

Aviation Consultant, Sanjay Lazar shared a video of this incident on X(formerly Twitter). In the caption, he mentioned that he received this shocking video on WhatsApp with alarming visuals of a staffer falling off a plane. Furthermore, Lazar informed this incident involved TransNusa Airlines and Jas Airport services in Indonesia. 

Aviation24.be informed that there were no casualties reported. The viral video shows two crew members shifting the stepladder away from the plane. One crew member stands at the plane door seemingly speaking to his crew inside the plane. He is seen looking in the opposite direction.

A few seconds later, he places his foot backwards to deboard the plane, assuming the presence of the stepladder. The airline worker plummets straight on the tarmac as the papers in his hands are strewn all over. The video shows the ground staff rushing to help him and his crew screaming in shock.

Netizens Raise Safety Concerns

After falling off the plane, he was rushed for treatment. Reports suggest his condition is stable and he hasn’t sustained any critical injuries. The video of this airline mishap went viral on social media. Many Netizens took to the comments section to raise their concerns.

@sandeeprrao1991 asked how they could remove the stepladder without the aircraft door being closed. The user called it basic SOP. To this, the aviation consultant agreed and said he googled the handling company behind this crazy lapse.

@astasastra from Indonesia informed that he received information about the injured airline worker who was getting immediate treatment. Fortunately, he didn’t suffer from many serious injuries. 

@Aniruddha2018 said the airline worker was also at fault for failing to be alert. He failed to notice the step ladder was moved away.

 

This is a concerning situation and we wish the airline worker a speedy recovery.
