As per a report by The Indian Express, consuming two garlic cloves everyday with some warm water to wash them down, is the solution to your health issues. For long traditional medicine has stressed garlic’s anti-inflammatory properties to keep diabetes in check and prevent heart blockages. This time, Dr Mukesh Goel, senior consultant at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, Delhi stated to The Indian Express that the latest study has shown that garlic has reduced fasting blood glucose levels. Moreover, it also reduces cholesterol levels.

As per the senior consultant for Cardiothoracic and Heart and Lung Transplant Surgery, this prevents the build-up of plaque in arteries. The meta-analysis gathered results from 29 studies with more than 1500 participants. Moreover, the data shows that garlic has led to a decrease in HbA1C levels. This is the average blood count for 3 months. It has also reduced low-density lipoprotein (LDL) AKA bad cholesterol.

Why Is Garlic A Magic Ingredient?

So, why is garlic the magic ingredient? Well, it has active compounds like organosulfur compounds. This restrains cholesterol synthesis. It also lowers plasma concentrations of both LDL cholesterol and total cholesterol in both human being and animals. Also, garlic fastens the breakdown of blood clots which helps reduce blood pressure. So, it increases high-density lipoprotein (HDL) AKA good cholesterol and also helps with cardiovascular health.

Garlic has improved insulin sensitivity in the participants of the study and assisted cells in absorbing glucose effectively. By just consuming 1.5 g or two cloves of garlic everyday, participants of the study saw noticeable differences in their health in just two weeks. There was a major drop in their fasting blood glucose (sugar).
