Authorities have announced that Ajman’s bus-on-demand (BOD) service has been suspended from June 4 until further notice. The BOD service, which operated minibuses from 6 am to 11 pm, aimed to reduce waiting times and ease traffic congestion. Passengers booked seats through an app, with routes dynamically adjusted based on demand.

The sixth edition of “Come on Kerala,” one of the Middle East’s largest Indian trade, entertainment, and cultural fairs, began on Friday at the Expo Centre Sharjah. The event, held under the patronage of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, will run until June 9. Air Arabia has launched its inaugural flight from Sharjah International Airport to Basra, Iraq. This new route, with four weekly flights, is Air Arabia’s fourth direct connection between Sharjah and Iraq, adding to routes to Baghdad, Najaf, and Erbil. This expansion offers more travel options and enhances connectivity for passengers.

4. Abu Dhabi Approves Bus Window Tinting for Safety

The Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi, represented by Abu Dhabi Mobility, has approved window tinting for all buses in the emirate to improve passenger safety. The regulation allows up to 30 per cent tinting on bus windows, excluding the windscreen, to maintain optimal driver visibility. This initiative aims to enhance comfort and privacy for passengers while adhering to safety standards.

5. Eid Al Adha 2024: Extended Holiday Announced In UAE

The UAE has announced that Saturday, June 15, to Tuesday, June 18, will be a paid holiday for both public and private sectors in observance of Eid Al Adha 2024. Work will resume on Wednesday, June 19, giving those who typically have Saturdays and Sundays off a four-day weekend. This extended break provides ample time for celebrations and family activities.
