It is an absolute moment of honour and pride for Chef Arturo Rivera Martínez and every staff associated with Taquería El Califa de León as they created history and enlisted the name of the taco stand in the list of places owning a Michelin star. Not every day do we hear about restaurants getting this recognition and it makes us happy to see that even the small eateries serving REALLY good food are getting fame and glory globally.
Chef Arturo Rivera Martínez has been awarded the coveted chef’s jacket on Wednesday. It has been a long time since he has been associated with this iconic taco stand in Mexico City. According to a report by CNN Travel, he has been cooking and serving tacos to visitors for the past 20 years.
Surprisingly, Taquería El Califa de León does not have a lot of options on its menu. The small taco stand’s menu features only 4 dishes. If these few taco options on the menu can win incredible popularity and esteemed name, we can only imagine how lip-smacking everything tastes here.
