If you have high blood levels, then adding some physical activities to your life is very important. And now, according to a study published in the journal ‘Obesity,’ it has been revealed that the best time to exercise to manage your blood sugar levels is during the evening.

The study suggests that this is mainly because the human body’s insulin sensitivity is naturally higher in the evening. This makes it easier for the cells in the body to absorb glucose from the bloodstream after a workout. According to the study, moderate to vigorous exercises in the evening are very helpful for sedentary adults. They are especially helpful for overweight and obese individuals and help lower their daily blood sugar levels.

According to Jonatan R. Ruiz, Professor of Physical Activity And Health, at the Department of Physical and Sports Education, University of Granada in Spain, evening workouts enhance the effectiveness of the exercise and physical activity. As per the report published in India TV, for this study, the researchers studied a total of 186 adults. They were asked to exercise between 6 AM and noon, noon to 6 PM, or 6 PM to midnight for over 14 days. These participants had a body mass index of 32.9 kg/m2. They were overweight or obese with an average age of 46 years.

The results of this research showed that accumulating greater than 50% of moderate to vigorous physical activity in the evening was associated with lowering day, night, and overall blood glucose levels compared with being inactive. This basically means that when you workout in the evening, your body is likely to manage your blood sugar level better.

As we mentioned, indulging in some physical activity is very important for people with diabetes. This is because when you have high blood sugar levels, then your body doesn’t produce enough insulin. This further means that the glucose in the body does not get processed. When continued for a long time, it can damage your organs and lead to severe health issues. So, if you’re facing early signs of diabetes, then consult a doctor and introduce physical activities in your life to make sure it doesn’t aggravate.
