Dining at the House of Lords is an experience in itself. When Parliament is not in session, it’s sometimes possible to arrange private dining events in some of its grand rooms. All action in the House of Commons and House of Lords has been suspended owing to the general election that is scheduled for July 4 and the dissolution of Parliament until then. When Parliament is not in session, the House of Lords sometimes opens its doors to private dining events, offering a rare opportunity to indulge in the grandeur. Because of the impending general election and the dissolution of Parliament, the House of Lords Peers’ Dining Room is temporarily available to the public. A three-course lunch buffet is available for £55 (INR 5,869) per person from June 10 to July 3 (weekends excluded). The last order will be taken at 2:00 pm, and lunch will start at noon.

Dining at the House of Lords in London is a truly unique and luxurious experience, characterised by its historical ambience, meticulous service, and exquisite cuisine.  At 900 years old, Westminster Hall is the oldest building on the Parliamentary Estate, making the House of Lords an enthralling historical backdrop for lunch. Important historical events have taken place in this hall, such as the coronation banquets of King Henry VIII (1509) and Queen Elizabeth I (1559), as well as King Charles I’s (1649) and Guy Fawkes’s (1606) trials. Stained-glass windows, red leather chairs, a wood-panelled ceiling, and 19th-century wallpaper create an immersive setting for diners.
