When the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia submitted its bid to host FIFA 2034, it certainly broke the internet. And now, as the Fédération Internationale de Football Association has published its bid, it’s been revealed that 11 new stadiums have been planned for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. While many are also being refurbished for the games, here’s a look at all the new stadiums that will soon be coming up in the kingdom.

New Stadiums In Saudi Arabia

Riyadh

1. King Salman International Stadium

As revealed by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City and the Ministry of Sports, the King Salman International Stadium will be one of the largest stadiums in the world. With a seating capacity of 92,000 people, it will be the main headquarters for the Saudi national team. Located in Northern Riyadh, it will be situated near key city attractions like King Khalid International Airport and Riyadh Metro Station. The construction is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2029 and design incorporates green walls and ceilings, which will cover over 96,500 square metres.

2. Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Stadium

Another stadium in Riyadh, this will be located in Qiddiya City on top of 200 m high Tuwaiq cliff. This is 40 minutes away from this city, the futuristic venue is anticipated to become a must-visit destination. The stadium is going to be the world’s first fully integrated venue, which will combine a retractable roof, pitch, and LED wall. In fact, this LED wall will be a portal to live event broadcasts, high definitions, and even laser shows. This 45,000-seat multifunctional stadium will comply with FIFA requirements for club.

3. New Murabba Stadium

Unveiled recently, the new Murabba Development Company mentions that the stadium will be an architectural marvel. With a capacity to seat 45,000 spectators, it will be the central pillar of the new Murabba. The upcoming stadium will feature cutting-edge sports technology that will create an immersive personalised experience. It is strategically positioned and is expected to be completed by 2032. Finally, it’s worth mentioning that the stadium will be able to host a wide range of events, which will stretch beyond sports, gaming competitions, and exhibitions.

4. ROSHN Stadium

Announced by ROSHN, another 45,000-seat stadium in Riyadh, visitors will be able to make use of sports facilities, such as walkways and public green spaces. The multi-asset class real estate developer has revealed that this stadium will feature main sports and events floor at its heart, which will be connecting several facilities. Bound to become an icon in southwest Riyadh, it will feature several events not just limited to sports but also entertainment, culture, and social.

5. South Riyadh Stadium

With a capacity to seat 47,060 spectators at a time, this stadium is planned for completion in 2032. It is expected that this venue will host the group stage and round of 32 matches. Just like other stadiums on the list, this one is also bound to be absolutely stunning, once it is complete.

6. Prince Faisal Bin Fahad Sports City Stadium

Currently under construction, this stadium will have a seating capacity of 46,855 spectators once it is complete. It is expected to be completed by 2027 and is bound to be absolutely astounding once complete. In fact, several new training grounds and facilities will also be constructed that will be in close proximity to the stadium, so that it can be used for the 2027 competition.

Jeddah

7. Qiddiya Coast Stadium

The Qiddiya Coast Stadium will be coming up in Jeddah and it is one of the several stadiums that have been planned for the 2030 FIFA World Cup. While the completion date has so far not been revealed, it’s worth noting that this stadium will be able to seat 46,096 people at a time. The massive stadium has a futuristic design and will certainly attract people with its beauty.

8. Jeddah Development Stadium

The next stadium that’s coming up in Jeddah is currently under construction. With the capacity to hold 45,794 people at a time, the stadium will be coming up in the Jeddah Central development. A part of the Jeddah central project, it is one of the five construction projects of this major development project.

9. King Abdullah Economic City Stadium

Announced quite a while ago, this is a stadium that’s currently under construction. With a capacity to hold 45,700 people at a time, this will be a FIFA-compliant football stadium.

Al Khobar

10. Aramco Stadium

To be developed by ROSHN, Saudi Aramco will be able to seat 47,000 spectators at a time. With the stadium boasting a whirlpool-like formation, it is one of the several stadiums that have been mentioned in the Saudi bid published by FIFA. It is expected that the multipurpose facility will be completed by 2026 and will also host major international events like the 2027 Asian Cup.

NEOM

11. NEOM Stadium

Coming up in the futuristic city of NEOM, the stadium is going to be built 350 m above the ground. Coming up in the unbuilt city of NEOM, the structure will only be reachable by driverless vehicles and high-speed lifts. In fact, the indoor city that is being constructed in the midst of the desert will boast this stadium that will have a seating capacity of 46,010 people at a time.
