A recent Maximize Market Research report has revealed that the massive alcoholic beverages industry is dominated by a few large players across the world. According to the report, there are 57 major alcobev (alcoholic beverage) manufacturers across the world and their combined market capitalisation is around $926.92 billion! Indian Distillers Among The Largest Alcoholic Beverage Manufacturers In The World
While none of the Indian distillers made it to the top 10 list, three of them were ranked among the top 50 largest alcoholic beverage manufacturers in the world. India’s United Spirits emerged as the 15th largest alcobev manufacturer in the world. According to a CNBC TV18 report, their market capitalisation is $12.05 billion! It is also the second-largest spirits company by volume and has its headquarters at UB Tower in Bengaluru.
Another Indian company on the list is United Breweries. Placed in the 25th position, this company is the Indian subsidiary of Heineken NV. They own various alcoholic beverages and are India’s largest beer producer, especially under the Kingfisher brand. Their market capitalisation is $6.31 billion.
Previously popular as Rampur Distillery & Chemical Company Ltd, Radico Khaitan is the fourth-largest Indian liquor company and the 33rd largest alcobev manufacturer in the world. They are easily available in countries like the US, Canada, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. Their market capitalisation is $2.72 billion, as per the CNBC TV18 report.
