5 Things To Do In Kandivali

It’s true. The Western suburbs of Mumbai house some of the best street food in the city. Over the last decade, Kandivali have emerged as one of the go-to spots for spin-offs on classics like your Chili Cheese toast, frankie, pasta, etc. The street food vendors here have their own caste of spices that weave a surprise of flavor. Not just food, Kandivali surprised us with a range of activities that we think will push you to go check it out over the weekend.

1. Pay Homage To Some Of The Most Beautiful Temples In The City

Kandivali is home to a large number of temples that are every architectural geek’s dream come true. From frescoes to the widely paved stairs, do pay homage to a few. We visited the SMVS Swaminarayan Temple, Shree Balaji Mandir the Dwarkadhisji Haveli Mandir. These places drone out of bustling noises of the city and welcome you to a haven of serenity and peace.

2. An Evening At The Infamous Khau Galli

Mahavir Nagar in Kandivali is where you’ll find hordes of hungry foodies. We recommend a food-hopping scene here. Start from the crunchy, spicy Chinese Bhel (Rs 150) at Dadu’s Chinese and head to WTC Pasta for their Red and White Sauce Pasta (Rs 150) that’s a delicious Indianized version of the macaroni. Head to Healthy Bites for their Malai Paneer Chaap (Rs 60) that brings you the feels of Dilli-ki-sardi.

3. Spend A Lazy Afternoon By Getting A Tarot Reading

A kilometer away from Kandivali station, there’s Angel and You, a sort of shop that’s run by a lady who specializes in Tarot cards and their readings. A healer by profession, you can also request for a Reiki session. If this isn’t something that ticks you, we’d still recommend trying it, just for an experience.
