There will be a seismic shift towards ‘digital first’ facilitated by digital identities, border crossings and mobile platforms.
  • With the advent of technology like generative AI, many airlines are planning on developing programs that incorporate this technology. As per the megatrend report, 97 per cent of airlines are planning on developing programs with technology like generative AI.

  • The Urban Air Mobility transportation sector has witnessed an increase in 2023. This has been due to various factors like increased efforts in reducing carbon footprint, progress in batteries and propulsion systems, operational costs, etc. Airlines have also shown an increase of interest with 32 per cent confirming major programs in the service.
  • The report also predicted that an increasing demographic of ageing travellers will come up and by 2030, special technological solutions will be available for supporting aged travellers. The rise in this demographic will also partly result from more people having disposable incomes.
  • The report also mentioned that over the next seven years, seamless multimodal travel is all set to emerge. This will be along with single verification and processing points so that the multi-modal travel is smooth from one end to another.
  • Autonomous robots, equipment and mobility vehicles will be increasingly seen at airports. This will be facilitated by 5G as well as artificial intelligence.
  • Travel chain MRO will be automated and will employ blockchain technology. This will result in significant savings, efficiency, and safety.
