Love kites? This one’s sure to bring a big, broad smile on your face. Abu Dhabi’s popular Kite Fest is back with its fifth edition. Get ready to fly kites, compete in the air, indulge in delicacies and camp over night at a colourful kite festival at Sir Bani Yas Island on  7 March. Save the date!

What’s It?

The Abu Dhabi Kite Festival is back and it promises to be bigger and better this time! Like each year, this year too, the Anantara Resort at Sir Bani Yas Island is all set to treat guests to a burst of colors in the sky.

Kite lovers, you’re going to love this! Head to Anantara Resort at Sir Bani Yas Island on 6 March and you are can relive your childhood memories of making and flying kites. The massive Kite fest invites the young and the old to enjoy a day  making and flying kites, on one of the most scenic locations in the UAE. Plus, all your efforts will be rewarded too! There are a range of exciting prizes awaiting you, so make sure to give it your all. And don’t worry about lugging around your kite kit, they will be available free of charge.

Entry is priced at AED 300 and includes a kite kit, barbecue lunch on the beach, water sports, biking and archery, as well as a nature and wildlife drive. And if you wish to make a staycation out of the whole thing, you can camp overnight for AED 650 per adult and AED 325 for children. The package also includes breakfast at The Palm restaurant.

What Else?

Meanwhile, a super cool beer fest is coming to the capital this February. For the very first time, HustleFest- a huge craft-brew festival is coming to Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina this February. The two day fest is free for all and has a host of activities to keep you engaged. Adults can chill with a can of beer, or hop around the food trucks while kids can participate in fun games, or dance to live music by DownHome, Who’s Who, DJ Darryl Rees and DJ Tulzy.

That’s not all! Beer connoisseurs can try over 30 never-tried-before-in-the-UAE brews, including citrus and malty flavours. The beers are brought from nine US-based brewers. Guests will also be able to sign up for tasting sessions, as well as participate in talks and trainings by speciality brewers from Colorado, Louisiana and Pennsylvania. 

While entry is absolutely free, guests can buy a variety of packages:

AED 100: Tastemakers’ package (Includes an official HustleFest glass and three complimentary tastings)
AED 200: Brewmasters’ package (Includes a Teku-style glass, three full-size samples and a guided tour of the best brews at the festival)

And for those who wish to hang in longer, there’s a silent disco party to join in!
