A Varanasi-Bound IndiGo Flight From BLR Makes An Emergency Landing At Shamshadabad. Here’s Why!

An IndiGo flight took off from the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru early on Tuesday morning. The destination of the flight was Varanasi. Unfortunately, the IndiGo Flight 6E897 had to land at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad’s Shamshabad. It made an emergency landing in Shamshabad at around 6:15 AM today. This Is Why The IndiGo Flight Was Diverted To Shamshabad

The Varanasi-bound IndiGo flight 6E897 took off from Bengaluru very early in the morning. There was a total of 137 passengers on that flight. But it had to undergo an emergency landing at Shamshabad airport because of a technical glitch. According to The Indian Express, IndiGo stated in a statement that the pilot observed a technical problem. And hence it was decided to make an emergency landing by diverting its destination from Varanasi to Shamshabad.

Though the flight might have been diverted and the passengers also faced delays on their journey, the good news is that all the 137 passengers are completely safe. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has shared the confirmed news of the safety of all the flyers travelling on IndiGo Flight 6E897.

Along with confirming the news that 137 passengers are totally safe, the DGCA has also instructed a probe and inspection on this matter. IndiGo also stated that they have arranged a flight for the flyers so that they can reach their actual destination, Varanasi. The concerned people have started working on the aircraft. IndiGo Flight 6E897 is in Hyderabad at the moment and is going through the process of inspection.

Another IndiGo flight diverted its destination back in February 2023. The flight from Surat airport was supposed to land at Delhi airport but instead, it had to land in Ahmedabad. The reason for diverting the flight was that it got struck by a bird after taking off from the Surat airport.

There are no further updates available on the emergency landing of IndiGo Flight 6E897 yet.
