Abu Dhabi Completes National Sterilisation Programme: Here Are The New Rules For Residents, Citizens & Tourists

Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee launched the National Sterilisation Programme on Monday 19 July. The program was launched in an effort to protect public health and prevent the spread of Covid-19. The Committee for the Management of Emergencies, Crises and Disasters on 19 August announced the completion of the sterilization drive. Besides, the capital also announced a new set of rules for residents, citizens and tourists entring public places. Read on to know more.

Who Can Enter Public Places In Abu Dhabi?

Upon completion of the national sterilization drive, Abu Dhabi has restricted the entry process for public places only to vaccinated Emiratis, residents and tourists. Only those who have been vaccinated and their status appears Green in the Al-Hosn application will be permitted to enter public places in the capital. Besides, all those who are vaccinated will be required to conduct a nasal swab examination (PCR) every 30 days.

What Are The Rules For Those Exempt From Vaccination?

The entry will be permitted for the those exempted from the vaccination. However, individuals whose status appears green in the Al-Hosn application are required to do a PCR every 7 days. In addition, kids under 16 years of age and with green status will also be allowed to enter without a PCR test.

Will Non Vaccinated Individuals Be Permitted To Enter Public Places?

Non vaccinated individuals will not be permitted to enter public places. Besides, individuals whose description appears grey on the AlHosn application will also not be permitted to enter. Grey colour on the AlHosn app indicates expiration of the PCR tests.

What Are The Rules For Residents Who Have Not Been Vaccinated?

Residents and citizens who have not been vaccinated will be treated as exempted from vaccination and will be given 60 days to get vaccinated. Besides, all individuals must also received a booster dose 6 months after the second dose has been taken. The record for the same must be maintained on the Al Hosn app.
