Planning To Visit Hajj This Year? Abu Dhabi Shares Health Tips You Shouldn’t Ignore

If Hajj is on the cards this year, officials in Abu Dhabi are basically saying one thing: don’t leave prep till the last minute. The Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre has put out a set of health rules for people getting ready to travel. And it’s not just about packing bags or booking flights. It’s more about your body, your meds, and whether you’re actually fit enough for the journey.

Abu Dhabi Shares Health Tips To Get Your Body Fit For Hajj

For many, Hajj isn’t exactly a relaxed trip. There’s walking, a lot of heat, crowds and long days.

That’s why officials are asking pilgrims to start working on their fitness at least three weeks before leaving. Nothing extreme. Just enough to build stamina so the body doesn’t struggle midway through the rituals. Also, eating properly gets a mention. Balanced meals and enough hydration, like basic stuff, but often ignored until it’s too late.

Doctors First, Travel Later

People with existing health issues are being told to check in with their doctors before travelling. Not casually. Properly.

Make sure your condition is stable and manageable during the trip. Doctors can also flag if any medication needs tweaking, especially for those that might increase dehydration risk in hot weather. That said, even if you’re generally healthy, a quick medical check before Hajj isn’t a bad call.

Don’t Forget The Paperwork And Medicines

Travellers should carry enough of their prescribed medicines for the entire trip. And not just loose strips thrown into a bag. Keep them in original packaging. Also, a medical report helps. Something that clearly mentions your condition, treatment, and dosage. If anything goes wrong abroad, that document can save time and confusion.

Vaccinations Aren’t Just A Formality

Authorities are also stressing vaccinations. Both required and recommended ones. These should ideally be done at least 10 days before departure so they actually have time to work. Last-minute shots don’t really help anyone. Before heading out, pilgrims are advised to visit a nearby government health centre to update their records. It’s a small step. But an important one.
