After Flights Delays And Cancellations, DGCA Directs Vistara To Submit Daily Updates

We choose to shell out thousands of bucks to book flight tickets for fast transportation, comfort, and all other conveniences. Unfortunately, most of our air travel journeys are getting worse these days and some of the major reasons behind these inconveniences are flight delays and cancellations. These issues are now a common problem faced by many passengers travelling on different airlines. Recently, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) asked Vistara to follow certain rules after striking delays and cancellations.

The airline has been making headlines for some time now for its flight delays and cancellations. Social media platforms are flooded with passengers complaining about Vistara. In the last week, more than 100 flights have either been delayed or cancelled, according to a report by Hindustan Times.

It cancelled about 50 flights yesterday. It is also likely that there might be cancellations of about 60 Vistara flights today. There are quite a few reasons behind such inconveniences caused by the airline. One of the biggest issues is the crew’s unavailability. In the past few days, we came across several news reports stating a shortage of pilots in Vistara. With no option, the airline is cancelling flights these days.

In between all these massive issues and chaos faced by Vistara, DGCA asked the airline to submit information about cancelled and delayed flights every day. Given everything happening, DGCA issued a statement on Tuesday asking the airline to present the necessary details daily.

Along with submitting information, Vistara also needs to comply with the provisions of CAR Section-3, Series M, Part-IV on “facilities to be provided to passengers by every airline because of denied boarding, cancellation of flights and delays in flights”, according to a DGCA spokesperson. For the passengers, the airline needs to comply with this along with refund options, necessary information, and more

The officials of the aviation statutory body are keeping an eye on the current situation. They are taking the necessary steps to be sure about the compliance of the talked-about CAR. They are also focusing on reducing these problems and avoiding horrible experiences faced by passengers waiting to board flights from different airports.
