India is a country of different cultures and many religions living together. The languages are drastically different, the foods are very distinct, and every culture has its own unique stories to tell. The country of over 1.3 billion Indians has so many diverse languages. And we hardly know some of these languages. Taking the entire world into consideration, people communicate in over 7,100 languages. Some are spoken vastly, others are less widely spoken by people.

This Indian Language Is The 7th Most Spoken One In The World!

It might come as a surprise but Bengali, also known as Bangla, is the 7th most spoken language in the entire world. In fact, a survey by UNESCO also states that Bengali is the sweetest language in the world. Many even appraise Bangla as the second most beautiful language, followed by French. You will find Bengalis in every state in India, therefore, you will find tons of people speaking this Indian language. Also, Bangladesh predominantly speaks in Bangla. In fact, Bengali is also the national language of Bangladesh.  The most interesting part is that the Bengali script is quite unheard-of in Western countries. Still, it secured its position as the 7th most spoken language in the world.

About 9.72 crore Indian citizens speak Bengali, making it the second most spoken language in India. The number is approximately 8.03% of India’s population. Not only in West Bengal, but this Indian language is also widely spoken in different corners of India. Predominantly spoken in West Bengal, many residents of Assam, Tripura, Jharkhand, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands use this language. Another very important point is that this is the world’s fifth most used writing system.
