In fact, Bengali is also the national language of Bangladesh. The most interesting part is that the Bengali script is quite unheard-of in Western countries. Still, it secured its position as the 7th most spoken language in the world.

About 9.72 crore Indian citizens speak Bengali, making it the second most spoken language in India. The number is approximately 8.03% of India’s population. Not only in West Bengal, but this Indian language is also widely spoken in different corners of India. Predominantly spoken in West Bengal, many residents of Assam, Tripura, Jharkhand, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands use this language. Another very important point is that this is the world’s fifth most used writing system.
