Russia’s Sputnik V Vaccine Claims To Be 91.4 Per Cent Effective Against The Covid-19 Virus
As per the officials, the Sputnik V vaccine will be available for emergency use. The decision was made after the nation had conducted a small-scale Phase 3 trial of the vaccine, involving about 1,000 volunteers. On this, the Ministry of Health and Prevention said the decision was part of “efforts to increase prevention levels against the virus and to safeguard the health of the country’s citizens and residents”.

Speaking about this to the state news agency Wam, authorities said,
“Study results have demonstrated the effectiveness of the vaccine in triggering a strong antibody response against the virus, its safety for use and its compliance with international safety and effectiveness standards.”
Sputnik V Vaccine In The UAE Has Been Approved For Emergency Use Only
In terms of the vaccine, trials involving more than tens of thousands were carried in Russia. The shots are widely in use across the country. As per the report, Sputnik V is 91.4 per cent effective, though that is yet to be peer-reviewed by independent scientists. The vaccine is developed by Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology in Moscow and financed by the Russian Direct Investment Fund.
