Recently, an AI Retreat happened in Dubai under the aegis of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is the Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation. In fact, he announced that this AI Retreat will now become an annual event, with the next retreat expected to return on April 29, when 2025. As it happens, the retreat will be organised by the Dubai Centre for Artificial Agencies in collaboration with the National Program for Artificial Intelligence. The AI Retreat 2024 Took Place Recently

The AI Retreat 2024 was the first event that was held as a part of the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence. Called DUB.AI, this event concluded recently and aims to strengthen the city’s position as a global AI hub. In fact, Sheikh Hamdan said that the division is to make the retreat an annual platform to examine far-reaching and significant transformations.

With participation from more than 2,500 decision-makers, industry leaders, and AI experts, this event was certainly a success. In fact, it also included approximately 50 CEOs from several major tech technology companies in the UAE and worldwide. This included names like IBM, Google, Microsoft, Samsung, and Oracle. As it happens, His Highness also stressed the importance of the benefits that arise from the conversations that were initiated at the AI Retreat. In fact, he also met with the 22 newly appointed Chief AI Officers who are in the government entities in Dubai.
Besides this, meaningful dialogues were exchanged, a comprehensive agenda was highlighted, and several announcements of strategic partnerships were made, making this a platform for future partnerships. It’s worth noting that there were also talks about the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence. This was launched on April 29, which basically serves, as a roadmap for enhancing the well-being of the device population with the help of AI.
