Air India On A Hiring Spree; Will Pay Pilots ₹2 Crore Yearly

Since the airline is purchasing a host of new aircraft, it is obvious that they will also need crew members to support them. Hence, the company is starting to hire crew members across ranks and roles. This means that there are many positions for pilots and flight captains opening up.

Each flight requires at least 10 pilots as the shift keeps on rotating. According to reports, B777 captains, for which there are several vacancies within the airline, will be paid upwards of ₹2 crore rupees yearly. The primary reason for such a high payment is that there is a shortage of skilled pilots within the aviation industry.

Hence, the high salary is primarily to attract skilled pilots. According to the salary bifurcation given by the airline, the monthly salary of the pilot will be $21,000. This amounts to more than ₹17 lakh rupees per month.

The major requirement for the pilot is that they must have at least 5000 to 7000 hours on the respective aircraft that they will handle.
