For the longest time, flying to Tier 2 cities meant connecting flights and long travel hours. Now, with growing infrastructure and extensive growth in connectivity, many airlines are introducing direct flights from major cities to Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. Keeping up with this spirit, Air India Express flagged off direct flights between Gwalior and Bengaluru. These flights will run daily and are a major step in connecting the two cities. Connecting Gwalior To Major Cities, One Direct Flight At A Time
Air India Express finally started daily direct flights connecting Gwalior with Bengaluru. The first direct flight on this route took off from Gwalior on January 16. The ceremonial flag-off of the flight was attended virtually by Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Dr. Mohan Yadav, and state ministers Pradhuman Singh Tomar and Narayan Singh Kushwah.
These daily flights will take off from Bengaluru at 5:10 AM and land in Gwalior by 7:45 AM. While the flight departing from Gwalior will take off at 3:35 PM and land by 6:10 PM in Bengaluru.
Expanding Direct Flights Network In Gwalior
Air India Express is known for its extensive flight network. Currently, this airline is operating more than 325 daily flights that connect 31 domestic and 14 international airports. The airline is working to enhance connectivity in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. And their expansion plans start with Gwalior. Just a few months back, Air India Express launched direct flights from Gwalior to Hyderabad. Now, they have announced they’ll soon start direct services from Gwalior to Delhi. This will also feature one-stop itineraries to various cities like Ayodhya. Gwalior has now become the second Air India Express destination in Madhya Pradesh. This complements the existing direct flights between Indore and Sharjah.
